Choosing between these series
Two things separate these series. The first is surge protection: the RMS series has it, rated at 650 joules, and the RM series does not. The second is where the outlets face. RM units are built with outlets on the front, on the rear, or on both faces, and every cataloged RMS model faces the rear.
So a rack that needs outlets reachable from the front, or from both sides, points to the RM series. A rack whose equipment is worth protecting from the supply points to RMS. Both are 19 inch 1U, both come in 15 amp and 20 amp builds, and both are built to order.

Brooks Rack Mount Units are 19 inch 1U power distribution units ETL listed to UL 1363, built to customer specification for equipment racks and cabinets. Outlets are available on the front, the rear, or both faces, in 15 amp and 20 amp builds.

- Rack Mount Units with GFCI Plugs
The Brooks rack mount units with GFCI plugs are 19 inch 1U power distribution units with a ground fault circuit interrupter on the end of the power cord, ETL listed to UL 1363. Outlets are built on the front, the rear, or both faces, and cord length and outlet count are specified per order.

Brooks Rack Mount Units with Surge Protection are 19 inch 1U power distribution units with surge suppression built in, ETL certified to UL 1449 Third Edition. Six and eight outlet rear-facing builds are cataloged in 15 amp and 20 amp.
