Returns
Brooks accepts returns of products under warranty, and of any product that does not match the accepted specifications. Other returns are accepted only at Brooks' discretion; contact Brooks before returning any product.
Products manufactured to order
Products are manufactured to order against the specification stated in the quotation. Brooks holds no finished stock, and a product manufactured to a customer's specification cannot be supplied to another customer.
Return Material Authorization
Contact Brooks before returning a product. Where a return is required, Brooks issues a Return Material Authorization (RMA) number by email, with shipping instructions. An RMA number is valid for 30 days from the date of issue. A product received without a valid RMA number is not accepted. The RMA number must be marked on the outside of the package, and the RMA paperwork, together with proof of purchase where requested, must be enclosed.
Proof of warranty coverage
An invoice or receipt from Brooks establishes the purchase date, from which the warranty period runs. The warranty sets out what is and is not covered.
Shipping a return
Who pays for shipping depends on the reason for the return:
- Covered by this warranty: the customer prepays shipping to Brooks, and Brooks pays to ship the repaired or replacement product back.
- Brooks shipped the wrong product, or one that does not match the accepted specifications: Brooks pays shipping both ways.
- Not defective, or not covered by this warranty: the customer pays shipping both ways.
Brooks recommends a carrier that provides tracking and proof of delivery. Damage resulting from inadequate packaging is the customer's responsibility. Where the return is covered by the warranty, Brooks repairs or replaces the product at its option and returns it to the customer at no charge.
Requesting an RMA number
Please direct all requests to sales@brookspower.com, stating the part number, the purchase date or invoice number, and a description of the fault.
Returns outside the warranty
Brooks may accept a return outside the warranty at its discretion. Contact Brooks before returning any product.
Cancellation
An order may not be canceled once Brooks has confirmed it; see the terms.
How this policy relates to the terms
This policy forms part of the terms, which set out governing law and the order in which documents take precedence.
A returned unit found not to be faulty
Where a unit returned under warranty is found to be working, Brooks does not charge for the inspection and returns the unit to the customer. The customer bears the freight in both directions.
