Compliance and listings

Compliance: BAA

Typical applications

HG Series units are specified where a strip needs hospital grade receptacles and a hospital grade plug, and where the location is outside the patient care areas our caution excludes: equipment rooms, laboratories, workshops and offices in a healthcare facility rather than the wards themselves.

Frequently asked questions

What does hospital grade mean on these units?
It describes the receptacles and the plug: green dot parts, with the assembly listed to UL 1363. It is a statement about the parts and the listing, not a claim that the unit is medical electrical equipment.
Are these medical electrical equipment, or listed to UL 60601-1?
No. They are relocatable power taps, ETL listed to UL 1363, the standard for relocatable power taps. They are not listed to UL 60601-1, and we publish no leakage current figure for them.
Can these be used in a patient care area?
Do not use Relocatable Power Taps in general patient care or critical patient care areas. That is our published caution. Ask before specifying one for a healthcare facility, and say where in the building it is going.
How far can these be customized?
The UL and ETL listings cover lengths from 6 to 77 inches, and we have built longer to order. Outlet count and cord length are specified per order.
